Gerald Solomon

Gerry Solomon is acting director and visiting assistant professor of journalism at Queens College. Before he began teaching full time in 2004, he was copy editor and producer for CNN’s Anderson Cooper/360 and Connie Chung Tonight programs, as well as executive producer for business programs on CNNfn. Solomon was the first executive producer of the PBS/13WNET program “Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly” and served as managing editor of ABC’s “Good Morning America.” From 1973 to 1992, he worked for NBC News in a variety of roles, including as executive producer of Meet the Press, Sunday Today, and NBC News at Sunrise; an associate producer of NBC Nightly News, and a Washington-based news producer for Today. Prior to that, he was a producer, writer, and editor with CBS News, in television and radio. He began his journalism career as a reporter, editor, and editorial writer with the Courier-Journal and Louisville Times in Kentucky. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Queens College and an M.S. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
